4th of July recap

So for those of you who didn't know, the 4th of July is one of Jamie's most favorite holidays (the other is Valentines Day). Because of this, she made the Cheney's 4th much more adventurous than I was thinking it would be (since I was contemplating sleeping in, then watching Batman of all movies, with Jordan and Kristen Sterling). First everyone arose and left the house at 7:30, Jamie and I to run the race, while Joe and the kids would hold seats (the parade started at 9). Of all the places Joe could choose, where did he sit his seats, why in the middle of State Street on the median of course! To bad the Po-Po made them move because it was "unsafe with traffic on both sides of you." So instead we landed in front of the post office. Murray had some of its sports teams in cars, promoting kids to play with them. One of these cars was for baseball, and Cole Taylor was on it. We waved and yelled out Cole's name, and what did he do? He sprayed us all with one of those high powered- not even a water gun- kinda hose thing that we clean the boat with! Needless to say, we spent the rest of the parade looking as if we had just jumped out of a swimming pool! At home, people went swimming for hours. Whit and I enjoyed a little VH1 America's Next Top Model marathon action (we always get suckered into these!). Frozen pizzas for dinner, then it was time for fireworks. We opted for a spot on Wasatch Blvd, right over the cement barricade (yes we were sitting with all the bugs from the bushes, and some dunk people singing their praises to America, I would have taken more bugs then to have to hear them sing however!). From up there, you can see at least 12 shows going on all at the same time across the horizon.
It was so fun, and a very good thing Jamie was here, otherwise we would have sat at home enjoying a little VH1 a lot more than we should!
